Dole barnstorming through eastern Kansas. Is he really not running for anything?
Former Kansas Sen. Bob Dole keeps saying at 90, he’s not running for any more political offices.
But check out the ambitious schedule that he’s laid out next week, and you wonder.
Atchison. Leavenworth. Hiawatha. Holton. Paola. Ottawa. Olathe. All over the course of three days.
“I’m not running for anything,” Dole said in a statement. “I just want to see old friends and meet new ones, regardless of party. I am looking forward to visiting with everyone and being back in my home state of Kansas.”
The visit closest to Kansas City will be at 1:45 p.m. Monday at Olathe City Hall, 100 E. Santa Fe St.
Also on Monday, he’ll visit Ottawa and Paola. On Tuesday, it’s Hiawatha and Holton. Wednesday will find him in Atchison and Leavenworth.
The filing deadline for the Kansas ballot this year is June 1. And, fyi, Kansans will elect a U.S. senator this year.
Just sayin’.
