Charter changes need a push
What if you held a charter change election and nobody came?
It isn’t that bad, not yet, but the folks promoting a couple of changes to Kansas City’s charter are worried that not enough voters are focusing on next Tuesday’s election.
So they’re holding a news conference Wednesday at Union Station to talk about them.
The first change would move city elections from the winter into the spring. Another change would require a 5-year financial plan and a one percent contingency fund, while the third would reduce the number of city departments required by the charter.
