BuzzChatter Monday: Koster lays into his former party

• “They’re just pissed that we stole it.” — Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster pointing out that the Affordable Care Act was a Republican idea.
Koster, the Democratic front-runner for governor in 2016, attacked his former party over the weekend for not expanding Medicaid. He said he was frustrated by what he called the GOP’s “1950s-style public health policies.”• “Game on, governor.” — Kansas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Paul Davis announcing his challenge to incumbent Gov. Gov. Sam Brownback at the Democrats’ annual Washington Days gathering in Topeka.
Davis was responding to Brownback’s one-time declaration that politics is a “contract sport.” Davis’ response was to urge Democrats to make Brownback own his record no matter how hard he tries to change the subject.• “We ought to walk real slow.” — Missouri Congressman Sam Graves on the crisis in Ukraine.
Graves, a Republican from northwest Missouri, said he believes it would be wrong for the U.S. to get involved in the showdown and said it was too soon to know what kind of impact the situation could have on trade with the U.S.• “Strengthen up.” — former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, a Republican-turned Democrat, urging Democrats to more vigorously back the Affordable Care Act.
