KCK gets a new state rep

Democratic precinct committee members Monday night elected Pam Curtis to take the place of former state Rep. Mike Peterson, who died last month.

Hawver’s Capitol Report notes that Curtis was the only candidate at the gathering at the downtown Hilton Garden Inn in KCK. About 25 people showed up to watch the election and tell stories about Peterson, who died two weeks ago.

Curtis is expected to be sworn in Tuesday or Wednesday.
