Moderates take aim at Kansas conservatives
More than five dozen Kansas moderates, including former Kansas Sen. Sheila Frahm and Senate President Steve Morris, have formed a group with the intention of regaining control of the state GOP.
The group is Traditional Republicans for Common Sense.
“In general, the group is not happy with the direction of the Republican Party in Kansas,” said Morris, who lost his re-election bid last year. “We feel the party has been hijacked. We are trying to come up with a strategy to get traditional Republicans elected to public office.”
