A new poll from the New York Times and CBS News gives Republican Gov. Sam Brownback a 7-point lead in the Kansas governor’s race.
The poll has it 47 percent Brownback, 40 percent for Democrat Paul Davis.
It’s 887 likely voters, and it is a bit of an outlier. Other polls have shown a lead for Davis, and he still leads in the RCP average of polls.
But the results are undoubtedly good news for the Brownback campaign, which is battling a perception that it’s a bit behind in the race.
