Trump nominates Kansas attorney for federal judge role
President Donald Trump has nominated a Kansas attorney to become a federal judge.
In a statement, the White House said John W. Broomes had been tapped to serve as a district judge on the U.S. District Court for Kansas.
Broomes works for Hinkle Law Firm LLC, according to the White House’s release. The firm has offices in Wichita and Overland Park; Broomes is based in the Wichita office.
U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts, in a statement, applauded the pick, calling Broomes “an exceptional nominee with an impressive record.”
Roberts noted that Broomes and other judicial nominees face an approval process before the Senate.
