On Tuesday, the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education updated its quarantine guidance for students exposed to the coronavirus, allowing them to stay in school, sports and extra-curricular activities if they meet certain criteria.
Under a new option, called “test to stay,” those exposed to someone with a known coronavirus case can remain in school if they get tested frequently with negative results. Ultimately, the decision on whether “test to stay” can be used is up to the local public health agency where the school resides.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Oct. 1 released their own dashboard tracking vaccination rates and COVID-19 cases among children by public school district. The dashboard includes all cases among school-aged children, ages 5 to 17, over a 14-day period.
