The number is up from 89 positive cases reported last week.

About 79% of those tested were students. Another 20% were faculty and staff. The rest of the results came from the Edwards campus in Overland Park. Of the positive tests, 216 were students and six were faculty.

In the Greek community, people have tested positive at a rate of 5.47%.

There were 133 positive tests for Greek life out of 2,433 tests.

“No single group will be ultimately responsible for our overall success or failure in combating this disease,” Girod said. “That responsibility rests with all of us.”

KU is testing every student, faculty and staff member for COVID-19 as they return to campus and before the beginning of on-campus activities and classes. The goal of testing is to identify and isolate positive cases, and to establish base positivity rates.

KU’s Pandemic Medical Advisory Team is guiding the university’s approach.

Girod urged people to remember to wear masks, stay 6 feet apart and to wash their hands.

Anyone not tested during the first two initial rounds can make an appointment with the mobile testing unit at Watkins Health Services.

Another round of test results is expected to be published Friday.
