Mission man dragged 25 feet while trying to stop car thief

A Mission man was injured Thursday morning when he tried to stop a thief from stealing his car.

Mission police said that the victim heard his car starting and saw someone trying to steal his car about 4:30 a.m. Thursday in the 6900 block of West 51st Place.

The 22-year-old man went outside and tried to stop the thief as he drove off. Police said the victim was dragged for about 25 feet.

Another person driving a blue Chevrolet truck may have been working with the thief, police said.

The victim’s car was later found abandoned. The man’s injuries were not life-threatening.
