Police identify Kansas City woman killed in Northland vehicular accident

Authorities have identified a 34-year-old Kansas City woman who died Wednesday in a single-vehicle accident as Andrea M. Burch.

Police said the wreck occurred about 4:15 p.m. at Interstate 435 and Shoal Creek Parkway. According to initial reports, Burch was northbound on I-435 at a high rate of speed. Witnesses noticed Burch’s vehicle was in the outer lane, then pulled around a semi-tractor trailer and into the middle lane. The vehicle cut back into the outer lane before leaving the roadway. It struck a bridge pillar and burst into flames.

Burch, who was alone in the vehicle, died at the scene, police said.
