Kansas City police arrested a man wanted on multiple felony and municipal warrants early Tuesday although he initially refused to comply with their demands to surrender.
Police went to a residence in the 500 block of Gladstone Boulevard just after midnight to check on a person wanted for rape and domestic assault. The man was alone in the apartment.
While speaking with the man, officers said they heard the sound of a firearm being cycled. Officers contacted the man by phone but he refused to come out of the apartment.
Just before 2 a.m., officers initiated an Operation 100, which is a tactical response for people refusing to surrender. The man finally surrendered around 2:30 a.m. and was taken into custody.
