Authorities release the name of man killed in KC house fire

Authorities have identified a 55-year-old man who died after a fire started in his residence in the 7000 block of South Benton Avenue as Gerald Futrell of Kansas City.

A space heater in a back bedroom ignited the fire, investigators said. There were no working smoke detectors in the home, according to fire officials.
