Grandview police rescue man who threatened to jump from overpass (with video)
Grandview police rescued a 28-year-old man on Tuesday who threatened to jump from an interstate overpass.
The incident occurred about 10 a.m. at Blue Ridge Boulevard and Interstate 49. When officers arrived, the Kansas City man appeared agitated and was hanging slightly over the railing, said Sgt. Dean Van Winkle, a police spokesman.
Several other Grandview officers arrived to assist. When the man looked away, one officer grabbed him. Other officers converged and pulled the man away from the railing and onto the ground. He was taken to Truman Medical Center for an evaluation.
