Man gets 25 years in prison for sexual exploitation of 13-year-old girl in Kansas
A South Carolina man was sentenced Monday to 25 years in federal prison after videotaping his sexual encounter with a 13-year-old girl in Kansas.
Robert P. Dickson, 49, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Wichita, where he previously pleaded guilty to two counts of producing child pornography.
Dickson met the girl through an Overland Park woman he met online, according to federal court documents.
The woman, Tricia Rodarmel, has pleaded guilty to transporting the girl from Missouri to Kansas so Dickson could have sex with her.
Rodarmel is scheduled to be sentenced July 25.
Dickson and Rodarmel began communicating online in October 2013, according to court documents.
After Dickson told her he was interested in sex with a minor, she put him in contact with the 13-year-old.
Dickson persuaded the girl to send him a nude photo of herself.
In March 2014, Dickson traveled to Kansas to meet Rodarmel and the girl. He had sex with the girl at a hotel. The encounter was videotaped, and Dickson took the video back to South Carolina.
As part of Rodarmel’s plea agreement, attorneys will recommend a 17-year prison sentence.
