Motorist is killed in wreck in south Kansas City

A motorist died early Friday in a single-vehicle wreck at 129th Street and Old Raytown Road in south Kansas City.

Police were withholding the driver’s name until relatives could be notified. The wreck happened about midnight.

Police said the driver was northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve and the Chevrolet Malibu left the road, striking a tree.

The driver was taken to a hospital, where he died.
