A 23-year-old Kansas City woman has been charged with robbing another woman at gunpoint at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park.

Anastaisa Adkins was booked into the Johnson County jail Wednesday night. She made her initial court appearance Thursday afternoon. Her bond was set at $100,000.

Adkins is charged with aggravated robbery in the Jan. 21 holdup of a shopper who was sitting in her car when four thieves accosted her. One female pointed a gun at her and demanded her purse and cellphone. The victim was not physically injured.

Overland Park police said Thursday that other arrests in the case were “forthcoming.”

It is not the first time Adkins has been accused of criminal activity at the mall.

In late November, she was arrested and charged with committing a series of thefts at three mall businesses. She also was charged with stealing another woman’s purse, according to Johnson County court records.

She was released on bond in that case, but prosecutors filed a motion Jan. 16 to revoke her bond. An arrest warrant was issued at that time.

Police last week released a surveillance video and photos of suspects in the case.
