Kansas City man is robbed and shot in the foot while trying to buy an AK-47

A man said he was robbed and shot in the foot Monday evening by a man who tried to sell him an AK-47 near 33rd Street and Indiana Avenue.

Police were at a hospital about 9 p.m. when the victim arrived in a private vehicle.

The victim told police he was shot while trying to buy the assault weapon. The seller also took the victim’s money and fled.

Police did not have a detailed description of the gunman. The victim’s condition was not available.
