Robber of Overland Park bank sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison
A Kansas judge sentenced a 24-year-old man Tuesday to nine years and six months in prison for the robbery last year of an Overland Park savings bank.
Alvin J. Williams pleaded guilty earlier to armed robbery and a firearms charge. He admitted that he and two others robbed the Inter-State Federal Savings on Feb. 27, holding employees at gunpoint before fleeing with $6,145.
One co-defendant, Randy A. Cornelius, 21, already has been sentenced to four years and nine months in prison. Williams’ twin brother, Allen J. Williams, 24, is awaiting sentencing.
All three are from Kansas City.
