Kansas City homicide victim identified

A man killed outside an east Kansas City home on Monday was identified Tuesday as 39-year-old Brandon D. Mitchell.

Police were dispatched to the 2900 block of Monroe Avenue a little before 3 p.m. Monday after an ambulance had been called to that address to treat a person suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Mitchell was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His death was ruled a homicide Tuesday.
