A checkpoint on Noland Road near East 75th Street led to multiple arrests by Jackson County sheriff’s deputies.

Two motorists were arrested between 11 p. m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated. One of those arrests involved felony DWI as the deputy had arrested the individual on a DWI charge last year.

Deputies also reported making two arrests on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance. Other arrests involved possession of drug paraphernalia, outstanding warrants and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Deputies established the stop because of the high number of injury and fatal crashes on the road between U.S. 40 and U.S. 350 in Kansas City, the Sheriff’s Department said.
