KC bank robber who fled in someone else’s truck sentenced to five years in federal prison
A Kansas City man convicted of robbing a bank on the Country Club Plaza and using someone else’s work truck to escape was sentenced Thursday to five years in federal prison.
David E. Clark, 37, wore a bright orange construction vest when he stole $3,037 from Commerce Bank branch at 118 W. 47th St. on July 28, 2014.
During the robbery, Clark approached a teller station and took out a note from his pocket. The teller refused to take the note and asked Clark if he needed help.
Clark demanded money and fled after the teller gave him cash.
Another bank employee saw Clark driving out of a nearby parking garage in a white truck with a concrete company’s sign on the side. Clark was arrested about 30 minutes later.
A federal judge found Clark guilty for the robbery during a trial in December.
