Charges filed in Plaza bank robbery
A man who previously served time in prison for bank robbery was accused Tuesday of robbing a bank on the Country Club Plaza Monday.
Federal prosecutors charged David E. Clark with the robbery of the Commerce Bank at 47th and Wyandotte streets.
They alleged that Clark, 35, handed a note to a teller and took money before he leaving in a white pickup truck with the name of a concrete company printed on the side.
Kansas City police spotted the truck a few minutes later. Clark was arrested after leading Kansas City police on a chase that ended near 77th Street and Brooklyn Avenue.
According to federal court records, Clark was sentenced in 2007 to 57 months in prison for holding up a Commerce Bank branch in Brookside.
