Bank robbery suspect arrested after chase in KC
Kansas City police arrested a bank robbery suspect after a winding chase through south-central neighborhoods Monday afternoon.
The robbery at a Commerce Bank branch at 118 W. 47th Street on the Country Club Plaza was reported about 1:40 p.m. Monday. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a white work truck.
A few minutes later, a police officer reported seeing a truck matching that description near 51st Street and Paseo. Officers, backed by a police helicopter, began to pursue the truck as it drove through mostly side streets before the driver got out and attempted to run near 77th Street and Brooklyn Avenue.
A police dog was used to help subdue the suspect, who had to be treated for a dog bite.
