Man is charged after disturbance at Overland Park assisted living facility
A Prairie Village man was charged Friday with mistreating an elderly woman and assaulting a police officer during a disturbance inside an Overland Park assisted living facility.
Scott James Booz is charged in Johnson County District Court with mistreatment of a dependent adult, interference with a law enforcement officer, criminal restraint, battery on a law enforcement officer and criminal damage to property.
Police said Booz, 49, was visiting a relative Thursday night at the facility in the 6900 block of West 81st Street when he barricaded a door and broke property inside the woman’s room.
When officers arrived and attempted to arrest Booz, he refused to cooperate and spit on one officer, police said.
Police said the woman was not injured.
