A mental competency evaluation was ordered Thursday for an Olathe woman charged in a 2015 fatal crash.

Angeline B. Shelor was charged last week in the Olathe crash last August that killed 77-year-old Lelia Roberts.

Attorneys for Shelor, 25, requested the evaluation to determine if their client is competent to stand trial.

In the motion, her attorneys said they had a “good faith” belief that Shelor “may not be able to understand the nature and purpose of these proceedings.”

A judge ordered the evaluation and scheduled a hearing for June 30 to check on the status of the case.
