Kansas City police surrounded a home near Seventh Street and Ewing Avenue on Friday afternoon and called in negotiators to talk with an armed man who would not come outside.
The man surrendered peacefully and was arrested about 4:30 p.m.
Police first arrived at the home about 12:20 p.m. to arrest the man on multiple felony charges, said Capt. Todd Marckx. The man refused to surrender.
Several other people, including children, came out of the home.

Police called in tactical officers and the department’s armored vehicle. Officers also asked some nearby residents to evacuate their homes, Marckx said.
