Police seek help in identifying suspected beauty store shoplifters

Police on Thursday asked for help identifying a man and woman suspected of repeatedly shoplifting items from an Overland Park beauty supply store.

The two people, who were acting together, allegedly took more than $1,000 worth of products on July 12 and 14.

They are also suspected of recently hitting another beauty supply store in Johnson County.

The man removed items from their packing and placed them inside his pockets, police allege. Meanwhile, the woman distracted employees. They left the store without paying, police said.

The woman was described as being in her early 20s. She is about 5 feet 4 inches tall with a thin build. A witness said the woman has a tattooed outline of a blue and green dragon on her left calf.

The man was described as being in his late 30s or early 40s. He is tall with an average build. He has a nose ring on the left side, and he walks with a limp on his right leg. He has been seen with and without a cane. Surveillance video also has shown him using the cane to support both legs.

Anyone with information about the identities of the shoplifting suspects is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477) or Detective Byron Pierce at 913-535-3193.
