Carjacking leaves one person critically injured on Bales Avenue

Kansas City police investigated a carjacking Friday that left one person critically injured near East 25th Street and Bales Avenue.

The incident was reported about 6:15 p.m. and police found one person shot at the scene. The person was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

About a half-hour later, police found the vehicle near 14th Street and Highland Avenue, but saw no suspects in the area.

The investigation continued.
