Police search for masked attacker in Edwardsville

A woman was taken to a hospital after being attacked by a masked man late Thursday in Edwardsville.

The assault occurred in the 1600 block of Edwardsville Drive in the Williamson Farms subdivision, police said.

The victim suffered a head injury, but police did not say what weapon the attacker used. The woman’s condition was unavailable Friday.

The attacker was described as wearing dark pants, a blue long-sleeve sweatshirt and a ski mask. Police did not have other details.
