Baby falls from car fleeing Northland shoplifting

A 4-month-old infant and a woman tumbled from a moving car Thursday as the driver sped away from a reported shoplifting in Kansas City, North.

Neither was seriously injured. The woman was arrested. The baby was taken to a hospital to be examined.

Police said the incident occurred just before noon Thursday in Kansas City, North.

Several people allegedly stole items from a Target store on North Chouteau Trafficway and then got into a car. One of the car’s doors was not secured properly and as the car turned a corner, the woman and baby fell out, according to police.

The vehicle later returned to the area and the driver was taken into custody, according to police.
