Man sentenced for embezzling $135,000 from Lenexa business
A former employee of a Lenexa company was sentenced Monday to 15 months in federal prison for stealing $135,000 from the business.
Alan Wenk, 43, was regional controller and corporate accounts payable manager for Performance Contracting Group Inc.
He was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., where he pleaded guilty to two counts of bank fraud.
The company, with offices throughout the country, conducts a wide variety of work, including demolition; lead and asbestos abatement; thermal, fire and acoustical insulation; and recycling.
According to federal prosecutors, Wenk used his position to issue company checks to himself and businesses that he controlled.
