Severely beaten teen tells Kansas City police he was attacked by 20 men

A Kansas City teenager was in critical condition Friday after being beaten severely by as many as 20 men while walking near 24th Street and Brighton Avenue.

The victim, who is in his late teens, said he was walking from the store to a residence when he was attacked about 9 p.m. Thursday. After the assault, the victim walked to the residence and summoned help.

He was taken to the hospital with numerous bruises and lacerations to his face and upper body.

Police did not have a detailed description of the attackers.
