Suspects arrested after Overland Park bank robbery
An Overland Park bank was robbed Tuesday morning, and police arrested two suspects after following a getaway vehicle into Kansas City.
The robbery was reported just before 9:30 a.m. at the Bank of the West at 94th Street and Antioch Road.
According to initial reports, two suspects wearing black hoodies and masks entered the bank. One showed a handgun. They left with an undisclosed amount of money.
They were seen leaving in a red Pontiac G6. Overland Park located the car and followed into Kansas City, where the car wrecked near 99th Street and Harrison Street. The suspects attempted to flee on foot. Police quickly took one into custody at gunpoint.
A second suspect was arrested in the area about 15 minutes later.
No injuries were reported.
