Bullet hits Kansas City pedestrian in both feet during rolling gun battle

A woman told Kansas City police she was wounded in both feet early Saturday when she got caught in the crossfire of a rolling gun battle between occupants of two vehicles near 31st Street and Van Brunt Boulevard.

The incident happened just after midnight. The woman said she was walking on Van Brunt Boulevard when she saw the rolling disturbance. As the vehicle occupants shot at each other, one bullet skipped off pavement and struck the woman in a heel.

The bullet passed through that foot and lodged in the heel of her opposite foot.

She was unable to provide investigators a description of the gunmen.
