Grain Valley police arrest five on theft suspicions

Grain Valley officers on Thursday arrested five individuals on suspicion of theft and recovered a large number of what they believed to be stolen items.

Officers went to a residence in the 800 block of Lee Ann Drive because they suspected juveniles there of being involved with several thefts from unlocked vehicles, according to a police press release.

Three of those arrested were 16 years old, including one who was a reported runaway. Authorities turned the three over to the Jackson County Juvenile Justice Center. Two others, 17 and 18 years old, were released pending further investigation.

Police ask Grain Valley residents who have had items stolen recently to call them at 816 847-6250.
