Shawnee police seek wheelchair thieves
Shawnee police are seeking the thieves who stole a motorized wheelchair from outside a Lowe’s store late last month.
Police released images of a van captured on surveillance video outside the store in the 16300 block of West 65th Street on the afternoon of April 28.
Police said the wheelchair, valued at more than $2,000, belongs to a Lowe’s employee who had left it in a parking stall while he went to lunch.
The video captured two people loading the chair into a tan, older-model conversion van, which has a multihued brown stripe down the side.
The van is possibly a Ford and has chrome running boards and a chrome spare tire cover on the rear door.
Anyone with information is asked to call Shawnee police at 913-631-2150 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
