Missouri sues home repair companies for alleged fraud
The Missouri Attorney General’s office on Tuesday filed suit against 16 home-repair businesses for allegedly defrauding Missouri customers in the wake of storm events.
One company, Exterior Home Concepts of Indiana, allegedly took at least $57,000 from 12 consumers in Clay County. According to complaints, the company convinced the consumers to sign over insurance checks to the company but did not do the promised repairs. Phone numbers for the company and for the listed owners were not in service Tuesday.
The Indiana Attorney General’s office won a default judgment against the company in 2011, and it is ranked among the worst contractors on Angie’s List.
