Former Kansas prison worker is sentenced for smuggling meth
A former Kansas prison worker was sentenced Friday for smuggling drugs into the Lansing Correctional Center.
A Leavenworth County district judge sentenced Jacqueline Doty to 13 months in prison.
Doty, 60, of Fort Scott, Kan., pleaded no contest in January to a charge of possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
She was charged after she was caught attempting to smuggle drugs into the prison in 2014. According to prosecutors, Doty was searched and was found to have several packages containing drugs wrapped around her midsection.
