Grain Valley man is charged with sexual abuse of two children
A Grain Valley man has been charged with sexually abusing two children during a span of five years.
Jackson County prosecutors said Thursday that 43-year-old Michael Mansell has been charged with first-degree child molestation and four counts of first-degree statutory sodomy.
Police first investigated Mansell in 2010, but he was not charged after the alleged victim recanted, according to court documents.
But last year the victim told a counselor that the molestation had taken place. Police were called again.
Investigators also spoke with another child last year who described being molested by Mansell, according to court documents.
