KC police arrest armed suspects on I-70 after chase
Kansas City police arrested two shooting suspects Monday morning after a pursuit through east and northeast parts of the city.
The suspects, who reportedly were armed with two handguns and an AK-47 rifle, were taken into custody about 11:50 a.m. after police flattened their tires with stop sticks on westbound Interstate 70 west of Prospect Avenue.
The suspects threw numerous items out of the vehicle during the chase.
Westbound I-70 at Prospect Avenue was closed briefly after the suspects’ car was stopped.
No one was injured during the chase. The earlier non-fatal shooting occurred Sunday night, police said.
