Three arrested after UMB bank is robbed in Kansas City, Kan.

A bank in Kansas City, Kan., was robbed Saturday morning and three suspects were arrested shortly after the car they were in was involved in an accident, the FBI said.

According to a news release, the UMB branch at 8300 Parallel Parkway was robbed about 9:15 a.m. by two men.

The FBI said one of the two men had a weapon and demanded cash. The two robbers then left in a white GMC Yukon SUV driven by a third person.

Kansas City, Kan., police spotted the suspect vehicle near 75th and State and pursued it. The SUV crashed into three vehicles near 51st Street and Leavenworth Road a short time later.

The three suspects fled their vehicle but were caught and arrested.

The driver of the suspect vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries but was in stable condition in a hospital Saturday afternoon. A passenger suffered minor injuries, authorities said, while the third was in custody.

Three occupants of the other vehicles suffered injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
