Raytown man charged with harming 6-month old daughter
A Raytown man was charged with child abuse Friday after his 6-month-old daughter was found to have a skull fracture and bleeding around the brain.
James D. Reddell, 49, told the girl’s mother Thursday night that the child fell off the bed, but a doctor said her injuries were not accidental. When Reddell was told that a social worker wanted to speak to him he left the hospital. He was later found hiding underneath a basement staircase at his home and arrested. Prosecutors requested bond of $250,000.
