Woman dies in KCK house fire
A woman was killed in a house fire late Thursday night in Kansas City, Kan.
The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department said they were called about 11 p.m. Thursday to the 1000 block of Greeley Avenue. Smoke was coming from the front of the single-residence home when firefighters arrived, and during an initial search, the woman was discovered inside the rear of the home.
Firefighters brought her outside and began CPR. She was taken by ambulance to the University of Kansas Medical Center, but died from her injuries.
Officials have not released the woman’s identify. They said the fire caused an estimated $35,000 damage and the cause is still under investigation.
