Drunken driving checkpoint on Ward Parkway nets arrests

Police arrested nine people for drunken driving Saturday night at 69th Terrace and Ward Parkway.

The Kansas City Police department and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a sobriety checkpoint and stopped 540 vehicles.

One person was arrested for not having a driver’s license and one person was arrested for not having insurance. There was also one drug arrest and one for a minor in possession of a controlled substance.
