Independence man charged in home invasion
An Independence resident has been charged with first-degree burglary in an early Wednesday home invasion.
Bond for Jacob M. Kleckner, 30, has been set at $20,000, said Tom Gentry, Independence police spokesman.
About 4 a.m. Wednesday, a homeowner in the 1300 block of South McHenry Street shot an intruder who had forced his way through the home’s front door. The intruder fled and collapsed nearby. By the time police were notified, Gentry said, a neighbor had taken the intruder to a hospital, where doctors considered his injuries to be not serious.
The homeowner was not injured in the incident, Gentry said.
