Human remains found Wednesday in Wyandotte County appear to be those of a white man 20 to 30 years old, Kansas City, Kan., police said Thursday.

The unidentified man, who was about 6 feet tall, may have been missing about a year. He was wearing a puka shell necklace with a shark tooth pendant. Police released a photograph of the necklace in hopes someone would recognize it.

The remains were discovered Wednesday morning by a mushroom hunter near the 5600 block of Wolcott Drive in the western part of Wyandotte County.
