A Kansas City man is facing charges in connection with a shooting Tuesday night that left a 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the head.

Clay County prosecutors charged Michel P. Foreman, 24, with aggravated assault and armed criminal action, accusing him of shooting a man during an argument at a home in the 4100 block of North Mersington Avenue.

The shooting was reported about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday after Foreman and another man allegedly had an argument over money and fought, according to court documents.

Witnesses told police that after the fight was broken up, Foreman shot the man in the back of the head with a .22-caliber pistol.

The man survived the wound and told police that Foreman shot him. The man was taken to a hospital.

Police later arrested Foreman at his parents’ home in Platte County and seized a pistol loaded with five bullets and containing one spent shell casing.

Foreman has spent time in a Missouri prison for drug offenses.

He had not yet been arraigned Wednesday on the charges related to the shooting. Bond was set at $100,000.
