Court documents allege that Wright robbed the victim of a backpack, but the documents do not state what it contained.
The shooting occurred in the area of Lone Elm Road and College Boulevard, near Olathe Northwest High School. Neither teen is currently a student at the school, according to school district officials.
Police arrested Wright at his home nearby in the 21000 block of West 112th Terrace.
He appeared before a judge Friday afternoon and was ordered held in juvenile detention pending his next court appearance on Jan. 27.
