Kansas City man is accused of robbing multiple banks and businesses

A 46-year-old Kansas City man has been charged with holding up two banks and three businesses during a December robbery spree.

Terry D. Jacobs and a woman, Jayme L. Wilson, 26, of Basehor, are accused of robbing UMB branches in Independence and Kansas City.

Jacobs is also charged with robbing two fast-food restaurants and a Family Dollar store in midtown Kansas City. All five robberies occurred between Dec. 20 and 29, according to federal prosecutors.

Jacobs and Wilson were named in a seven-count grand jury indictment handed down Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Kansas City.

Besides the robberies, Jacobs is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The five robberies netted a total of $8,000. Prosecutors will seek the forfeiture of that money from Jacobs and Wilson.
